Snow

This past weekend we got snow, the first measurable snow since we moved here. The kids had a blast in it. But, we learned snow doesn't fall straight down here, it seems to always be blowing at an angle.

The girls made snow angels.

Not to be outdone, Max made a great snow angel too.

Last weekend we went back to Woods Cross to paint a wall in our house (hopefully it will sell now). It was a whirl-wind trip, but we accomplished lots in a little amount of time. On Friday, me and the kids went with the "regulars" to Arctic Circle. It was great to see everyone. On Saturday, Jim and I went to dinner and a movie with my sister and brother-in-law, while the kids got to play with their cousins. On Sunday we were able to go to Provo and visit with Jim's grandparents for a bit. It was great to see them. The kids love their "grandma and grandpa great." Here are some great pics we took while in Provo.

Toothless Lexie

Lex lost her first top tooth on Feb. 6, then she lost the second on Feb. 16 - leaving her toothless. She loves the look. I hope she isn't disappointed when they grow back in.

Lexie turns 7 - Holy Cow!!!

On February 2nd Lex turned 7 years old - how can the be?????
Since we were still living in the hotel on Lexie's birthday, we decided to take a day trip to Denver to celebrate the special day. Lexie chose the events of the day, starting out with a stop at Chuck E. Cheese. All of the kids loved it!

After Chuck E. Cheese we went to the Denver Aquarium. It was amazing - almost Sea World-ish. We all loved it. Lexie and Betsey pet and fed the rays, Abi just screamed every time they got close, and Max just didn't think they were that cool.

We went on the 4D Sponge Bob ride at the aquarium - the kids loved it!

On Lex's real birthdate, we went swimming, opened presents, and of course had birthday cake.

Sidney

I know it has been a really long time since I have "blogged", but let's just forget that little leave of absence and start from this point forward.

On January 1, 2010 we made the big move to Sidney, Nebraska. Jim accepted a position with Cabela's, and for the time being we are living in a hotel.

Farmington Pond

Today we, with lots of our friends, went to Farmington Pond. What a beautiful day. The kids love it there, they threw rocks in the water (trying to miss the geese), slid down the dirt hills on their bums (thank goodness for Spray N Wash), and just loved being out with their friends. I also loved being out with my friends, and my great kids. As you can see by the pics, they came back all tuckered out. Oh, I almost forgot, I have to tell a funny/embarrasing story. Abi had to go pee, and of course there are no restrooms near. So I take her just off the trail. She starts grunting and pop, here comes the little poop. Not proper hiking ettiquete for sure, however, I guess when you've gotta' go you've gotta' go. Lucky for us, it was off the trail and easy to cover.

The End of Soccer Season

This week was Lexie's last soccer game. I'm so sad!! But, the little tyke scored 2 goals during the game, so I guess that is a great way to end the season. Go Ladybugs!

Spring Fun

I took the kids "hiking" on the Lagoon Trail today. We went with a couple of our friends, and had a blast. Lexie was busy finding "roley poley bugs" and ladybugs. Max and Abi looked for their own bugs and ran and ran. It was a beautiful day and we had lots of fun. There are lots of fun pics, so keep looking.

Happy Birthday Lexie - #6

Happy Birthday Lexie!! Today was Lexie's birthday, I can't believe she is 6. Where does the time go? She chose pizza for dinner, and we just had a family party here. She got a new bike, "without training wheels" (this is the 4th bike we've bought her. We learned the hard way, don't buy bikes at every stage of life. Just buy one that they can grow into.)

On Saturday Lex had her birthday party with her friends. She chose to go to the movie with her friends Kelsey and Lauren. We saw Beverly Hills Chihuahua, they loved it. On the way home from the theater my plan was to stop and get hamburgers, so I asked the girls if they wanted cheese or no cheese. Lauren told me she didn't like hamburgers, she only likes grilled cheese. Grilled cheese isn't readily available at most burger joints, so I asked if she wanted something else. She said she ate too much popcorn and wasn't hungry - both Kelsey and Lexie agreed. So I told them we will just go home, and when you get hungry, tell me and I'll fix grilled cheese. When we got home we had cupcakes and apple juice. Kelsey informed me she didn't like juice. Wow, I was sure since there were only the three girls I could easily make them happy for a couple of hours, the easiness was mythical.

The girls had a great time at the party and loved going to the movies together.

Straight Hair

I was straightening Lex's hair and Abi of course wanted hers done too. So we straighted her hair too.

Let it Snow!!!

We played out in the snow after the big storm a few weeks ago. The kids loved it! It makes you remember how much you loved to play in the snow when you were little - you know, before all you did was curse winter and the cold.

Jim made a hill in the front yard to sled down. Lexie, Max, and Abi each took a turn, and loved it. Then, Jim took a turn, tried to show off and broke the hill - fun was over.

Christmas Lights

We went and saw the lights at Temple Square on Sunday - of course they were amazing as always. We went with my sister, Mary Lee's family and our new friend Jacquie. It was great, and got us right in the Christmas spirit. The kids all loved it. The Nativity was their favorite part.

We did the 3 day potty training with Max and Abi last week - whew!!!! All in all it went pretty well. Max is doing great, and Abi is still having one accident per day. But, I see a light at the end of the tunnel. If we can make it through the potty training stage with two of them, we can do anything!!

I do have to share a funny story. While training, we kept asking the kids if they were dry. While I was in the shower on Saturday, Jim asked Max if he was dry and got no response, so he asked Lexie to feel if he was dry. Lex felt and said, "Dad, it feels full." Wondering what this meant, Jim came down and felt Max's pants, which were dry. But, compared to Lex, his felt "full". Oh, the differences between boys and girls.

Halloween

We celebrated Halloween in Richfield this year. The kids went trick-or-treating with all of their cousins, and of course had a great time.... But, I'm getting too old for this stuff. Halloween was way more fun when you only had to worry about getting yourself ready one night, instead of 3 kids ready over and over again because of all the parties (church, school etc.)

It all ended in the car with suckers - who said we should wait to eat our candy?

The Witch Walk

A couple of weeks ago we took the kids to Gardner Village for the Witch Walk. They had a fun time seeing all of the spooky witches. We never found the face painting and there were no shows going on, so I was a bit disappointed. But look at the cute picture moments we got.

Woo Hoo!!! Successful Hunt

Jim went hunting in Wyoming in October. He killed a great antelope and a deer. As always, he had a great time hunting - he has such a great time, I never know whether or not he'll come home.

Painting Pumpkins

On Friday we painted pumpkins with our friends the Gunns, Jess, Kelsey, Tyler, and Bree. The kids had a great time. Lexie painted spiders on one and a vampire on the other. Abi painted hers very carefully, and Max painted more of himself than the pumpkin. We can't wait for Halloween!

Aquarium

We went to the Aquarium with my sister's kids (Jamie) a few weeks ago. They all had fun. Of course, touching the sting rays was the highlight.

SOCCER

Lexie had her first soccer game last Wednesday. It was awesome. I thought it would be fun to see the kids out there, and if nothing else, cute and funny. It was oh so much more than that. It was so great cheering them on - suddenly I wanted to be out there with them. There was such a big difference between Lexie's playing her first time in and her third time in - she can be pretty aggressive. And she scored her first goal.

The team is she on is the "Ladybugs", and her coach is great. She is really enjoying it. And we are loving watching her.
